Christ Church is where I go to worship, praise, give thanks,  and receive blessings and guidance from the Lord my God, together with other fellow believers.   -Elaine (charter member)

I like Christ Church because it reminds me that there are many global people like our family.  It's a place where my kids enjoy coming, and we are able to be as involved as much as we feel we are able to be.  When I'm sad I feel better after attending the service. -Becky, USA (member since 2010)

Pastor John and Lisa made me feel right at home.  I really enjoyed the multicultural fellowship. Doc, USA (member from 2007-2009)

The Council

The annual Assembly of the Church members approves Statutes and elects a Council each year to work with the Pastor. The Council oversees the finances and the ministries, in addition to assisting the pastor in administrative duties.

This is how our members see us:

I feel Christ Church is my spiritual home.  It is where I belong. - Anna Ruth (charter member)

I experience Christ Church as a home-away- from-home where locals and foreigners of all denominations have the sense of being part of God’s family in a caring, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. -David, S.Africa (member since 2010)

Who we are as a Community

We are a core group of members with an ever-widening circle of friends.  The mix is international, with people coming from all over the world, but the feel is local.  We make a great effort to ensure that new members feel at home quickly and share in the closeness and supportive atmosphere among the long standing crowd. Our historic tradition is United Methodist, while our commitments and spirit are interdenominational.  Our Communion services are open to all on the first Sunday of every month.

Christ Church in Montevideo was founded more than 30 years ago and was established as its own legal entity with Uruguayan non-profit status.
