Team Leadership

We work as a team and lead the church with the sole purpose of serving our community.

We look forward to meeting you.

For several years we served as Youth Leaders in Jacksonville, FL while I also taught 2nd grade in two different inner-city schools.  In 1993 I took John home with me to Colombia where we spent the next ten years helping to encourage families, youth and children to find spiritual significance and meaning in life.  During those years, I led a team in adapting, teaching and eventually publishing (with permission) parenting materials to help meet needs families were facing at that time.  In 2003 we moved to Uruguay.  Although the beginning was tough, I now feel that Uruguay is home.  I love it here!  I love being a mom to our three children, Natalie, Vanessa and Joshua! I also love the outdoors - gardening, dogs, hiking and horseback riding.  I´m inspired by discussions on matters of faith and life, Sarah Groves´ music, sunsets, a good book and children of all ages. I am most excited when I see faith making a difference in someone´s life! It does in mine!!!

I was born in Michigan, but Colombia quickly became my home as I grew up in North Bogotá and attended Colegio Nueva Granada for all of K-12.  I met John at Asbury College and we married in 1990 following my graduation with a degree in Elementary Education.

I am from Wilmore, Kentucky, USA, and lived there until graduating from Asbury College in 1989 with a degree in Philosophy.  I like people! I love teaching and helping others discover truth about God, Scripture and life.  I love to learn, particularly through reading.

I wake up each morning  thankful for my wife, family, friends, mentors, supporters and the mercy of God in my life.  I studied Bible and Theology for four years at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia and was ordained by the Iglesia Cristiana Confraternidad de Colombia in 2002.  I have served since 1993 with One Mission Society in Colombia and Uruguay.  In recent years, I was able to attend Sonscape with Lisa and visit Glacier National Park in the company of close friends.  Both were spectacular reminders of the wonder and glory of God revealed in nature and through people who commit their lives to him. I am learning more every day about living life and serving others.  The road seems long, but the journey is a joy!
